The Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) or DGA, as the agency legally responsible for supporting the integration of digital services across government agencies, aims to establish a comprehensive One-Stop Service (OSS) for all residents of Thailand, as mandated by the Digital Government Development Committee. These efforts have been made to facilitate services for both the business sector and the public in Thailand. However, residents in Thailand also includes foreigners. Currently, it has been found that government services for foreigners are provided separately by each government agency, without integration into a comprehensive One-Stop Service. Therefore, it is necessary to elevate government services for foreigners to elevate greater convenience, as they play a crucial role in Thailand’s economy and overall competitiveness.
In addition, DGA has developed a five-year “The Next of Digital Government Service for Foreigners Roadmap (2023 – 2027)” to provide a strategic framework for enhancing government services for foreigners. This plan focuses on developing a national central system that consolidates information and public services, enabling foreigners to conveniently access government services through online channels. Moreover, the plan includes a study and analysis of foreigner expectations (Foreigner Expectations Analysis) and best practices in developing digital platforms or service portals for foreigners from leading countries (Leading Practice Analysis). These insights are synthesized to formulate an appropriate development approach for Thailand. Besides these studies, DGA has also held discussions with related agencies to collect feedback and recommendations. These consultations cover various aspects, including system capabilities, services available on the portal, challenges, and areas requiring support. This information has been incorporated into the five-year “The Next of Digital Government Service for Foreigners Roadmap (2023 – 2027). It is designed to be a practical guideline that DGA and relevant agencies can follow to drive progress in a coordinated direction.
