Government Information Network: GIN<\/b><\/p>

GIN is a central government information network service that connects government agencies to support public service systems to be used effectively and continuously at all times. It uses <\/span>high-performance information technology to develop a stable, secure, fast, and budget-saving government management and service system. Background<\/b><\/p>
In the past, each government agency developed its own information network, leading to redundant investments and a lack of systematic integration of information. This resulted in slow progress in improving the overall information technology network efficiency of the country. Therefore, the integration and development of the Government Information Network (GIN) was established under the responsibility of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (formerly the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology) and is managed by the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) (DGA).<\/span><\/p>
Objectives<\/b><\/p>
To develop, improve, and expand the central information network system to various government agencies, making it the primary route for transmitting and receiving data between agencies.<\/span><\/li>
To integrate the existing communication networks of various agencies, allowing them to connect as an internal government communication network (Government Intranet) that supports electronic systems and services. This will promote the integration of data and work among government agencies, ensuring efficiency, speed, and high security.<\/span><\/li>
To strengthen collaboration among government agencies in developing or deploying basic electronic services (Common Service) through the GIN network, reducing time, per-unit costs, and duplication of network-related budget expenditures in the public sector.<\/li><\/ol>
Approach to Integration and Development of GIN<\/b><\/div>

To develop, improve, expand, and integrate the network to cover various government agencies, making it the primary route for transmitting and receiving data between ministries, departments, bureaus, branch offices, both at the central and regional levels, including provincial halls nationwide.<\/span><\/li>
To integrate the existing communication networks of various agencies, allowing them to connect as an internal government communication network (Government Intranet) that supports various electronic systems and services. This will facilitate data integration and operational efficiency among government agencies, ensuring practicality, speed, and high security.<\/span><\/li>
To strengthen collaboration among government agencies in developing or deploying basic electronic services (Common Service) through the GIN network, aiming to reduce time and eliminate redundancy in the government\u2019s network-related budget. The operations will include the following:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
Supporting data exchange between government agencies based on specific missions, such as the Electronic Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS) of the Ministry of Finance’s Office of the Permanent Secretary and the Civil Registration Database of the Department of Provincial Administration. <\/span><\/li>
Enabling communication within agencies in three main ways:<\/span><\/li>
Connecting departments within a ministry.<\/span><\/li>
Connecting units within a department.<\/span><\/li>
Connecting central and regional agencies (provinces).<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
To improve the network to support information systems for tracking key government tasks, such as the Prime Minister’s Office Operations Center (PMOC) and the integration and monitoring system for the rice pledging data.<\/span><\/li>
To elevate the security quality for exchanging important government data through the GIN network.<\/span><\/li>

Monitor and maintain security, with personnel available for consultation 24\/7.<\/span><\/li>
